Charlene Pauls to conduct Guelph choir at famed Carnegie Hall

 NEW YORK, NY — Charlene Pauls to conduct Oakville and Guelph choirs at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall on March 17. The groups will perform Mendelssohn’s, Psalm 42, Op. 42 and will be joined onstage by the New England Symphonic Ensemble (Preston Hawes, Artistic Director).

The concert will also include Dvořák’s Te Deum, Ērik Ešenvalds’ Trinity Te Deum conducted by Jeffrey Goolsby; Poulenc’s Gloria conducted by Nancy Klein; Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna conducted by Elisa Fraser Wilson; and Stephanie Ann Boyd’s Four Future Memories, Grainger’s Lisbon (from Lincolnshire Posy), Martini’s Domine, Ad Adjuvandum Me Festina, Reginal Wright’s Opportunity (World Premiere), and Durufle’s Ubi Caritas Et Amor, all conducted by Peter C. Jagdeo and Jed H. Ragsdale. The production is part of MidAmerica Productions’ 40th anniversary season.

“These choruses received this invitation because of the high level and quality of musicianship demonstrated by its singers,” said Peter Tiboris, General Director and Music Director of MidAmerica Productions and MidAm International.

The experienced and distinguished choirs performing on the concert include: Appleby Choir, from Oakville, ON led by Sara Joy, Bishop’s University Singers from Sherbrooke, QC led by Melinda Enns, Church of the Incarnation Choir from Oakville, ON led by Charlene Pauls, Guelph Chamber Choir from Guelph, ON led by Charlene Pauls, Masterworks of Oakville from Oakville, ON led by Charles Demuynck, Pauls Carnegie Choir from Oakville, ON led by Charlene Pauls, Oakville Choir for Children and Youth from Oakville, ON led by Maria Conkey and Charlene Pauls, Victoria Philharmonic Choir, from Victoria, BC led by Peter Butterfield.

They will be performing at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall on Sunday, March 17 at 1 p.m.

The New England Symphonic Ensemble, led by Charlene Pauls and featuring participating choruses, performs Mendelssohn's Psalm 42, Op. 42. Then, Jeffery Goolsby conducts Dvořák's Te Deum and Ēriks Ešenvalds' Trinity Te Deum. Nancy Klein takes the baton for Poulenc's Gloria, followed by Elisa Fraser Wilson directing Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna. As part of MidAmerica’s Ensemble Spotlight Series, the Tomball Memorial High School Choir and Orchestra performs Boyd’s Four Future Memories, Grainger’s “Lisbon” (from Lincolnshire Posy), Martini’s Domine, Ad Adjuvandum me Festina, and Opportunity, a world premiere by Reginal Wright.
