Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington has received a 'transformational' gift from Hutton Forest Products. In addition to giving more than $100,000 throughout 2022, Hutton has committed long-term support for the charity.

HFPI became increasingly concerned with the well-being of kids in our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and decided to help fund a range of programs and events.

“It’s important for industry leaders and entrepreneurs in our community to give back and nurture the next generation of young minds,” says James Hutton, President and CEO, Hutton Forest Products Inc.

“My focus has always been to contribute to the organizations and programs that can maximize the impact I can make in the community. Working with the Children’s Foundation has allowed me to do just that by contributing on a much deeper level than just making a monetary contribution. I believe in the work they are doing so much that I have sponsored one of my employees to join the foundation for a six-month contract to support the development of their corporate employee giving program and other project work.”

In addition to supporting children and youth through the work of the Children’s Foundation, Hutton Forest Products Inc. also supports a variety of charities in the tri-city region focusing on homelessness, as well as physical and mental health and well-being.

"The Hutton Forest Products team have really stepped up as a collaborative partner for the betterment of the most vulnerable in the community,” says Emma Rogers, CEO of the Children’s Foundation. “We are so grateful for their financial support, as well as for their engagement in advancing and championing the services we provide, ultimately ensuring more kids will have what they need to thrive and live a life of possibility. This corporate leadership is a testament to the heart they bring to their own work and to the community.”

In the years to come, Hutton will continue to look for new ways to engage its employees and customers in its corporate and community initiatives.
