Dixon’s Distilled Spirits has been named LCBO’s Best of Ontario – Spirits for 2022. The award is given to one recipient in recognition of delivering product excellence to customers and raising the industry bar.

The award was gratefully received by Michael Kingma, VP of Sales and Marketing at Dixon’s and Domenic Gagliardi, vice-president Eastern Canada at Charton-Hobbs, on May 3 during the in-person Elsie Awards event, its first non-digital event in two years.

“We are grateful to be recognized as delivering some of Ontario’s best spirits,” said Vicky Dixon, who is co-owner of Dixon’s alongside partner Jeremie Dixon. “Quite simply, we love doing what we do and are honoured that the awards committee have tried it, love it too, and are sharing it with others.”

Dixon’s Distilled Spirits was founded in 2015 and is known throughout Ontario for creating unique and award-winning gins, vodka and whisky using locally-grown ingredients. Their hand-crafted, hand-bottled and 100% Canadian-made products are available at LCBOs throughout the province and through their online store.

“We deliver premium spirits using only the highest-quality Ontario ingredients,” says Dixon. “That’s the secret behind the exceptional taste of our gins and vodkas. That and a commitment to innovation and creativity and being driven by a passion for excellence; just wait until you see what we’re doing next.”

Dixon’s was also one of the very first distilleries approved by Health Canada to make the switch to making sanitizer in 2020. Initial supplies were donated to frontline staff including paramedics, firefighters, police and hospital workers. The company was also sponsor of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association, an organization formed to create awareness about the need for a truly professional and sustainable women’s hockey league.

“We are a family-run company that believes doing good is not only our responsibility, but good for business and great for our staff, customers and neighbours. And thanks to the support of these very people,” said Dixon, “we’re fortunate to be able to give back to organizations that support and strengthen Ontario communities.”

The LCBO’s Elsie Awards recognize suppliers, agents and trade partners that excel in their commitment to innovation, creativity, customer service and social responsibility. The awards began in 1994; this year marks their 28th anniversary.
