NEWS RELEASE
ELORA CENTRE FOR THE ARTS
*************************
This is the first year that the artists’ studios of the Elora Fergus Studio Tour will be closed to the public since its opening 34 years ago. The creative collaboration between the Elora Centre for the Arts (ECFTA) and the Studio Tour has resulted in a Gallery Show and Sale in the Minarovich Gallery, an opportunity for the public to view and purchase pieces created by 34 of these talented artists.

A representative piece from each of the artists will be on display and available for immediate sale in the ECFTA for four weeks from Thursday, Sept. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 11. The Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and from 12 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

All artists have been juried into the Studio Tour to ensure that the quality of the work is outstanding. Jewelry, glass, marquetry and wood working, ceramics, woven tapestry, sculptures, collage, encaustic, and paintings from representational to abstract works are all available.

This show has been made possible through a partnership with the ECFTA. Lianne Carter, the Director, and other ECFTA staff work very hard to promote and support the arts in this community. On Thursday, September the 17ththey reopened their doors after months of closure to celebrate the local Studio Tour artists with this special show. They believe that creativity and the arts can play a vital role in this period of recovery.

In addition to the Gallery show, there is also a beautiful Artisan Shop where you will find handmade artisan-designed items that are unique, affordable and perfect for gifts. At least ten of the Studio Tour Artists are represented here. The ECFTA staff have taken precautions for social distancing and protecting visitors and volunteers inside the building. Masks are mandatory.

There is a third initiative that features ten Studio Tour artists on Sept. 26, 27 and Oct. 3 and 4. They will be showing and offering their works of art for sale at the Elora Fergus Art in the Open event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Saturday and Sunday of both weekends. Cards describing the artists and their locations are available at the ECFTA or check Facebook and Instagram for more details.

This is the perfect time to visit the area and immerse yourselves in the arts in a beautiful natural setting.
