Hook, line and sinker for free fishing this weekend in Ontario in celebration of Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day weekend is this coming weekend and free fishing can take place on May 12 and 13.
“Whether you’re new to fishing or an experienced angler, it’s a great way to bond with family this Mother’s Day weekend,” said Graydon Smith, minister of natural resources and forestry, in a press release.
“This is a fantastic way for families to get out and enjoy one of Ontario’s greatest natural resources – our beautiful lakes, rivers and streams,” Smith said.
Rules and fishing regulations such as conservation licence, catch limits, size limits, and sanctuaries still apply.
The next free fishing weekends are Father’s Day from June 17 to 18 and Canada Day July 1 to 9.
Those taking part in free fishing will need to carry identification with their name and date of birth.
