NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH POLICE
*************************
The Guelph Kickz 2019 Soccer Program commences on Jan. 16, 2019.  Kickz is a free soccer program for Shelldale youth that takes place weekly for 16 weeks at the Guelph Sport Dome.

Shelldale serves a community with higher numbers of new Canadians and is also an area where many residents face greater socioeconomic challenges. The Kickz Vision aligns with the services provided by Shelldale, “to create safer, stronger, more respectful communities through the development of young people’s potential."

Kickz is entering its 12th year and is successful as a result of the strong partnership between the involved agencies; Guelph Police Service, Shelldale Family Gateway, West Willow Village, Guelph Soccer Club, Immigrant Services Guelph Wellington, and the University of Guelph Athletics.

Kickz would not be possible without the commitment from members of the Guelph Police Service, who volunteer their time to mentor the participating youth.

In addition, much needed financial support is received from the Guelph Police Services Board and Canadian Tire Jumpstart. We recognize Canadian Tire Jumpstart and their commitment to making play and sport more accessible for kids of all abilities.

We look forward to another very fun and successful Kickz season!
