The Mystery of Mr. Leftovers performance at University of Guelph
GUELPH - Guelph Dance and the Central Student Association at the University of Guelph are co-presenting The Mystery of Mr. Leftovers, a contemporary dance piece by Toronto-based choreographer Sharon B. Moore.
The free performance takes place this Friday, April 8, at 12 p.m., in the University Centre Courtyard, University of Guelph.
This is part of the University’s CSA Nooner series.
Coinciding with this co-presentation is the season announcement of Guelph Dance’s 18th Annual Dance Festival, which takes place June 2-5, 2016.
Performed by emerging artist Jillian Peever, with choreography, direction, and text form Sharon B. Moore, and dramaturgy, direction, and sound design by Derek Aasland, The Mystery of Mr. Leftovers is a desperate plea for companionship and love, laced with poetic monologues and movement.
It is a piece that merges dynamic dance with outrageous antics.
In a series of odd adventures, Mr. Leftovers searches through the echoes of his own history leaving him somewhat unassembled.
He seeks to build himself up by discovering, readjusting and fulfilling his own legend of himself, whether true or false.
The Mystery of Mr. Leftovers inherently asks questions of the human condition – with a side of ridiculousness.
Sharon B. Moore and Derek Aasland are Cinetic Creations.
From circus to theatre, dance to opera, and major motion pictures to the concert orchestra, Cinetic Creations, led by Moore and Aasland, has developed a signature style of narrative creation praised by critics and audiences alike for a seamless and deep integration of story and discipline.
