Maps of Guelph homes with impressive Christmas lights are live

Each map is also marked with drop-offs for non-perishable food item donations and people taking a tour of the lights are encouraged to donate there or at their favourite food bank

A series of maps featuring Christmas light displays in the city has been created and shared online by local mapmaker Abhilash Kantamneni.

Recently, Kantamneni was featured on GuelphToday for his work creating maps of Halloween decorations around Guelph.

Kantamneni is a geography PhD student at University of Guelph who told GuelphToday in October he is using his map-making hobby to help residents rediscover their connection to Guelph, one route at a time.

Three maps are available as free Google docs, one for the south end, east end and west end. A time estimate accompanies each map, with routes taking about 30 to 40 minutes to complete.

The maps are shared on the Guelph This & That Facebook group, an online neighbourhood for Guelph citizens.

Each map is also marked with drop-offs for non-perishable food item donations and people taking a tour of the lights are encouraged to donate there or at their favourite food bank.
