North end stabbing victim targetted, say police

On March 16, 2016 at 12:40 p.m. Guelph Police were called to the area of Woodlawn / Victoria, where there was a report of a male chasing another male while brandishing a knife. 

Police arrived to find a 48-year-old male had been stabbed, receiving minor injuries. 

He was transported to the Guelph General Hospital and subsequently released. 

Police were able to locate the suspect, who is known to the victim, and arrest him. 

A 39-year-old Guelph man was charged with assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous. He was held for a bail hearing. 

Police believe this was a targeted incident. There is no danger to the public.
