Guelph police made a pair of impaired driving arrests over the past few days, including one where a citizen reported some one sleeping in their vehicle.

Police say that on Friday morning at 9 a.m. a concerned citizen notified police about a person sleeping in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in a parking lot located near the intersection of Watson Parkway North and Eastview Road.

Police located the vehicle, spoke with the person and he was subsequently arrested.

A 47-year-old Mississauga male has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle.

Saturday around noon, a man was driving westbound on Paisley Road approaching the Hanlon Parkway North intersection in the City of Guelph. He then proceeded to turn left onto the Hanlon Parkway North, colliding with a motor vehicle driving eastbound on Paisley Road at the intersection.

Shortly after police arrived on scene to investigate, the driver left the area.

A couple of hours later police found the man at a residence located near the intersection of Alma Street North and Paisley Road. He subsequently failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.

A 32-year-old Guelph male has been charged with impaired and turn on in safety.

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
