Guelph police are investigating after a failed attempt to steal a backhoe this week.
Officers were called Thursday morning to the area of Westmount Road and Division Street. A backhoe had sustained damage after someone tried to pry off a locked cover to access the ignition.
Property including a solar-powered camera and tools with a total value of approximately $700 were stolen.
The incident remains under investigation.
