CENTRE-WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – On June 22, 2016 at approximately 9:05 p.m. police observed a 2005 GMC pickup truck pull onto St. Andrew Street West from St. David Street and emit a loud exhaust noise followed by squealing tires.
The vehicle travelled west at a high rate of speed with multiple people walking in the area. The truck was stopped and the male driver spoken with.
18-year-old Jordan Belanger-Herwynen of Guelph-Eramosa Township is charged with drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - cause tire to lose traction contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
He is to attend Guelph Provincial Court on August 17, 2016.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
