The Learning Disabilities Association of Wellington County (LDAWC) is hosting a trivia night this month.

LDAWC is a charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children, youth and adults with learning disabilities reach their full potential.

The trivia night is on May 25 at the Italian Canadian Club from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are available online. All proceeds will go towards helping people impacted by learning disabilities.

Attendees must be 19 years of age or older.

Along with trivia there will be more activities, food, drinks and opportunities to learn how you can help people with learning disabilities.

In Ontario, 40 per cent of students have a learning disability, said in a press release. Almost 50 per cent of adolescents who die by suicide had been previously diagnosed with a learning disability. There are 62 per cent of high school students with learning disabilities who are unemployed one year after graduation.

LDAWC is asking people to help the organization as it continues to create a community where learning disabilities are understood and accepted.
