NEWS RELEASE
PEOPLE AND INFORMATION NETWORK

PIN -The People and Information Network is hosting a Virtual Youth Summit on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, from 4 - 5:30 p.m. With thanks to the City of Guelph Emergency grant, PIN is pleased to offer an opportunity for youth between the ages of 13-18 to learn, engage and gain Community Involvement (CI) hours.

The People and Information Network (PIN) is a non-profit organization providing programs and services in Guelph and Wellington. The focus of our work is to help people engage in their community in a way that is meaningful to them. We help people find volunteer opportunities that are a good fit for their interests, passions and skills. We also support local nonprofits and charities in their efforts to engage volunteers by providing resources, training and consultation.

The theme of the Virtual Youth Summit is “Give Back & Create Change”; an opportunity for youth to learn from community leaders, such as Kween, Community Activist and CEO of The Kween Company, Helen Keen from the University of Guelph and Jenn Bucci, Recreation Coordinator Youth Services with the City of Guelph.

Participants will also engage with other youth participants to inspire them to take action in their community around the causes they are passionate about. Through a series of short presentations and breakouts groups, youth will have an opportunity to learn about different subjects related to volunteerism, education, career development and more.

All participants will receive two hours of CI for their participation and all participants will have the opportunity to win prize packs and gift cards for their involvement.

PIN will provide information on how youth can seek out volunteer hours, complete their CI hours for school and consider how lifelong volunteering keeps on giving.

To learn more, email [email protected] and to register at PINnetwork.ca. Watch our social media channels to learn more about the Summit @PINnetworkGW
