Woman didn't realize her bracelet and necklace had been stolen

It was a case of distraction theft that leaves you wondering 'how does that happen?'

Guelph police are investigating after a resident reportedly had her necklace and bracelet stolen in a distraction theft Sunday afternoon.

A resident of Vancouver Drive was working in her yard when two parties in a black pickup stopped in front of the house and called to her. The victim went and spoke to them. The female passenger placed a bracelet on the victim’s wrist and also placed a necklace around her neck. In the process the female removed the victim’s bracelet and necklace without her noticing.

The driver was described as a male, approximately 60 with brown skin, a heavy build, short black hair and a dark shirt. The female was approximately 50 with brown skin, a heavy build and short dark hair. They were driving a newer black pickup similar to a Ram.
