Guelph native Seccafien finishes 15th in Olympic 5,000m

Scheduled to compete in the 10,000m final on Saturday

Guelph native Andrea Seccafien finished in 15th place Monday in the final of the women's 10,000m in Tokyo.

Seccafien, 30, is a Bishop Macdonell grad who has lived and trained in Australia the past few years.

She is scheduled to compete in the final of the 10,000m on Saturday.

Seccafien finished the 5,000m final in a time of 15 minutes, 12.09 seconds.

Her semifinal time was 14 minutes, 59.55 seconds and her personal best in the event is 14 minutes, 57.07 seconds.
