Passed away suddenly at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of 47 years to Joan Abbott. Loved father of Tammy (Chris) Rice of Dorset, UK and William (Cathy) Abbott of Smithville, ON. Proud grandfather of Hunter, Abbigail and Cody. Dear brother of Leonard, Franklyn, Marina, Melita and his late brother Michael; and brother in-law of Ross, Alex, Wayne, Joyce, Evelyn and the late Eric, Phyllis, Yvonne and Loretta. Clyde will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, June Bell, Blair and Joanne Caldwell and their family, many friends and business acquaintances and patrons of JP Abbott Distribution Services that he and his wife founded and have operated in Guelph, ON since 1978.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on April 6, 2019 in Guelph, ON and family, friends and all business related associates are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Details to be confirmed and announced in the weeks leading up to this observance.
Clyde was an avid outdoorsman and had a great passion for fishing and hunting so the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, and if desired, memorial contributions to Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) 4601 Guthrie Dr. Peterborough, ON KL9J6Y3 1-800-263-6324 ext. 244, would be appreciated.
