It is with great sadness on this Father’s Day, June 18, 2023, that we announce the sudden passing of Aart Alberts at Wellington Terrace in his 95th year.
Aart was much loved by Betty Alberts, his wife of a remarkable 72 years and his 5 children, Al, (Wendy), Hank,(Colleen), Caroline, (Bruce), Ron, (Mandy) and Tim, (Darlene). Aart also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Aart was known for his sense of humour and will be missed by all who knew him. He and Betty immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1951. Soon after, he began working at W.C. Wood Co where, over the course of 39 years, he rose to the position of general foreman. Aart and Betty then enjoyed a busy 30 years of retirement together with much family time and travel.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Breslau on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 1:00- 2:00 pm with funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery followed by a reception.
