Eric Anderson passed away unexpectedly at the University Hospital in London on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 29 years.
Beloved son of Shari and Bruce Benson and Calvin and April Hewitt. Cherished grandson of Bill and Lorraine Anderson, John Reeve, Jackie and Calvin Hewitt and Frances Benson. Loved brother of Jordan, Matthew, Nicholas, Aundre, Aaron and sister Adria. Eric is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by Great Grandparents Enid and George Lawrence, Grandmother Debbie Reeve, Grandfather Carl Benson and Uncle William Anderson.
Eric was a very good natured soul who lived his life to the fullest. He could and always had a smile on his face, his favorite phrase was “whatever”. He cared about his family and friends in the purest way. He loved them for who they were and because he wanted the best for them, without asking for anything in return. What you saw with Eric was always what you got with him, and what you saw – if you were lucky enough to have known him – was a truly delightful, generous, easy going, fun loving human being. Eric had so much goodness, love and the capacity to bring happiness to others. The world is a lesser place without him.
Eric will be forever remembered for his beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us.
We would like to thank McMaster Hospital, Sick Kids Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hamilton Hospital, Grand River Hospital, London University Hospital and both Grand River and Guelph Dialysis Units for their ongoing care of Eric from the time he was a baby up to his last days of life.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph. The service will be available to watch through ZOOM, using the link on the funeral home website. A celebration of life to commence at a later date.
