Passed away peacefully on March 28, just two days short of his 103rd birthday.

William went to Sandhurst Military College at the age of 19. He was awarded the Sam Brown’s Belt in 1944 and went to Dieppe. At a military dance, Bill met his future wife, Doris. The loving couple were married shortly after in May 1944 and then moving to Canada in 1946 on the last medical ship arriving from England.

After the war, William and Doris decided to make Guelph their home where he took over his father’s business. For many years, Bill and Doris enjoyed curling with their friends. When he retired, they decided to move to their cottage in Port Elgin. Later they moved to Owen Sound with their son, Paul.

Three years ago, Bill and Doris moved back to Guelph to take up residence in Wellington Park Retirement Home for one year followed by moving to Riverside Glen Long-term Care for approximately two years.

Bill is predeceased by Doris (2022) and his grandson, Scott Bremner (1998). He is survived by his children Suzanne Range (Jeurgen), Paul Anderson, and Debra Longhurst (Brian) and his grandson, Mark Bremner of Vancouver.

The family is thankful and grateful for the wonderful care Bill received especially at Riverside Glen.

Cremation has taken place. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park for Bill and Doris will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).

A tree will be planted in memory of William F. Anderson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
