ARTUSO, Giovanni (John)

Passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Thursday, January 3, 2019 in his 73rd year, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Doris (nee White). Loving father of Wendy (Brent) Artuso-Clouthier. Cherished Nonno of Zoe. Dear brother of late Angelina, Peter, Lucia, and Elisa, all of Italy. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. 

He immigrated to Guelph from Italy in 1967, and brought his cherished Italian heritage with him. John valued the simple things in life; friends, family and faith. He had a passion for the outdoors, and his favourite things to do were to walk and play soccer. John was a longtime member of the ICC. Until he was unable to, John was a choir member at St. Boniface Church.

Special thanks to the nurses and Dr. Chan at Guelph General Hospital, the staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, and the staff at Hospice Wellington for their compassionate care for John. 

Friends will be received at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9pm, with vigil prayers at 3:30. A funeral mass will be held at Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, 28 Norfolk St, Guelph, on Wednesday, January 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place.
