Ayles Stephen MM

With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Stephen J Ayles.

Stephen passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2022 at age 69, surrounded by his close family and listening to his favourite CD. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 31 years, Karen Ayles. Steve was a deeply loving brother to his siblings, a proud father and grandfather to so many and a favourite uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He embraced all his in-laws as if they were his own, spreading his support to every corner of his large family.

Steve was always one of his family's biggest cheerleaders when he attended concerts, hockey games, or baseball games; showing his pride for any family member who tried their best. He was a huge sports fan, supporting the Maple Leafs, Eagles, and the Blue Jays, but a friendly game of golf with his brother on a Sunday morning was his absolute favourite past-time.

The only thing he enjoyed more than sports was his love of music. He always thrived while listening to the oldies, 50s 60s 70s, and had an endless wealth of stories about songs, artists, and behind the scenes tales. He loved to play a guessing game when a familiar song came on the radio and always seemed to get it right.

Steve was extremely proud of all his family and friends. He had the ability to leave a lasting effect on all those he came across, from all his son’s friends to the local dogs in his neighbourhood, everyone felt his love and enjoyed the warmth of his presence. Stephen would tease you if he really liked you, but he only ever wished the very best for everyone in whatever their passion was.

We are forever thankful to everyone who had a part in caring for Stephen over the past few years during his period of illness. Your gentle kindness, quality care, and positivity made all the difference to him and his family.

Cremation has taken place and Stephen’s celebration of Life will be held at his sister Marie’s with details to follow. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
