It is with heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our most cherished and loving Margaret Theresa Baker, in her 96th year. Predeceased by her husband, Lewis Edward Massey Baker, her parents Suzanna and John Soltis and her brother John and his wife Ruth Soltis. Loving mother of Bonnie (and late Ronald) Marshall and Gerald (and wife Ruthann) Erwin. Wonderful and always kind grandmother to Tracey (Sam), Todd (Sarah), Travis (Sheryl), Reilly (Jennifer) and Ryan (Karen). Caring Baba (great-grandmother) to Owen, Emma, Shawn, David, Jaylynn, Brea, Cameron, Christina, Leo, Sydney and Emily. Great-great-grandmother to our precious little ones, Dante and Elijah. Special sister to Josie (late Bill) Porreca and Joseph (Rose) Soltis. Missed also by a great many nieces, nephews, friends at church and her workplace (Cedarview Mink Ranch – Leona and late Melville Reid), and, of course, in her beloved Slovakia.
Special thank you to her friend, Luciano Mattucci, who has shared many Sundays of worship with her. Thank you also to Guelph General Hospital ICU nurses who helped us through a very difficult evening, to the loving, caring and dedicated staff at Wellington Hospice who made us feel like family and to Dr. Anna Issakoff-Meller.
Visitation to be held Friday, February 10th, 2017 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin Street North in Guelph. Funeral service to be held immediately after visitation at 2 p.m.
