Barton Brian MM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Brian Barton. Brian passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 9, 2021, with his beloved wife his side, after a battle with Lewy Body dementia. Brian was in his 64th year.

He leaves behind Paula, his wife of 36 years. Predeceased by his beloved mom Doris Eleanor Barton (1999) and his father John Gerald Barton (2002). He will be sorely missed by his sister JoeAnn Barton of Guelph, his sisters-in-law Holly (Sandy) and Helen (Cliff), as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins in Ontario and Saskatchewan. Uncle “B” will be sadly missed by his favourites nieces; Marci and her children, Andi and her children, and Lissa (Shaun) and their children. Uncle Brian will also be missed by his nephews and nieces; Cary and his children, Alex, Tanner, Taralyn and Tamara. Brian will be fondly remembered by many friends.

At Brian’s request, there will be no funeral service. He ask each of you to take a day or two and remember him by doing one, all or some of his favourite things – a round of golf, attend a Guelph Storm hockey game, go out into nature and take some photos, read a novel, listen to the Beatles or Rolling Stones, watch a Sauble Beach, Port Elgin or Southampton sunset or get all dressed up for a “fancy dinner” (as he called it) and raise a glass of scotch in his memory.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

Memorial contributions can be made to Renal Transplant Clinic – St. Joseph’s, Hamilton, the Renal Clinic of Guelph, the Guelph Humane Society or to Lewy Body Dementia. Many thanks for the kind and compassionate care given by Dr. D. Treleaven, Dr. Salhas, Dr. Chippin, Dr. Shafir, Faith and HPCT Guelph.

“Give Peace a Chance”

A tree will be planted in memory of Brian J. Barton in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
