BATES, James Allan (Jim)

October 18, 1948 - October 19, 2021

Jim passed away at home after battling throat cancer. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Christine (Krysia) nee Hejduk, his daughter Phoebe Berry, her  husband Bryan and their son Beckett. He is also survived by his brothers John, Jeffrey and Joel, and Joel’s wife Martha. He was predeceased by his parents John and Eleanor Bates, and his sisters Jerilyn and Jane. Jim loved tackling major projects on his property, including a dance floor for Phoebe’s wedding and a path through the woods which was enjoyed by many, especially during COVID. Projects were often completed with the help of family, friends and neighbours. He was a kind, thoughtful, loving man with many friends. He was a good man. He will be greatly missed. Arrangements are being made for a reception in Jim’s honour, to be held shortly. Donations to Diabetes Canada gratefully accepted. Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son-Hart Chapel.
