BECKING, Valerie Elouise (Leiskau)

 It's with heartbreaking sadness we announce that on Monday January 17th, 2022 Valerie peacefully left this earth and transcended on her next journey, at the youthful age of 73.

Valerie was the proud, supportive & loving mother to Aspasia (Tim Wright), Daniel & Jasmine Becking (deceased May 2008). Her responsibility as "nana" to her granddaughter Aaliyah was inspiring to witness. She loved her unconditionally, always ensuring she felt loved, understood & supported. She taught her the lessons of life and how to be the best version of herself.

Valerie had a special connection to her other granddaughter Keaura. As Keaura would say " Nana is my person and she gets me ". They would enjoy their times together creating art, listening to music, going on adventures and talking about life.

She was the loving daughter of Eugene Leiskau (deceased 1998) and Margaret Leiskau (deceased 1983) and beloved sister to Larry Leiskau, Debbie Battler (Russ), Cory (Delia), Jennifer Judges (Darryl) & Jennifer Sacco (deceased 1995), Aaron Sacco, Trevor Sellers, Ken and Sonja and Gabi Sellers.

Valerie was a free spirit, her essence was vibrant, joyful, creative, passionate & spontaneous. She lived her life to the fullest, each day seeing the world & people through the lens of love, openness & acceptance. She loved art, music, dancing, good food, laughing and exploring. She was the pillar of strength & connection to so many. May you still hear her laughter when you gather together for years to come.

For the last 30 years she has been a dedicated business owner of holistic therapies, where her clients well being was her top priority. Valerie was an artist, creating one of a kind unique pieces that showcased her talents as a painter, jewellery maker, crystal healer & so much more. If you hold one of her unique art pieces, let it be a reminder to see the beauty around us everyday.

Valerie will be deeply missed. Let her free spirit live on in the memories you have of her. Please join family & friends Wednesday January 26th at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral home to honour the life she lived, living everyday to the fullest!

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 from 4:00 - 6:45 pm and a service to follow at 7:00pm. Those wishing to attend the visitation and /or the service must RSVP by visiting gilbertmacintyreandson.com. All guests are required to wear a mask, and socially distance.
