November 5, 1941 - December 27, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce Dina Gabriella Bellantoni suddenly passed away at home on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022.

She was born Nov. 5, 1941 in Monteferrante, Italy.
Dina was predeceased by her husband Leonardo Bellantoni (Apr. 6, 2022). She leaves behind her children Pietro (Monica), Frank (Angela), Vittoria (Dave), Lisa and grandchildren Santana and Elliot.

Dina also leaves behind her brother Alberto Ferrantone (Nicoletta, Sept. 5, 2016). She is predeceased by her siblings Maria (Giovanni), Matteo (Rosina), Assunta (Antonio), Ubalda, also known as Irma, Nicola and Yolanda (Joseph).

She will be missed by her best friend of over 50 years Rosa Colanardi, also known to everyone as Rosetta.

Dina is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins across continents.

She came to Canada at 17-years-old and started her life here. She had a long career as a seamstress, spending her last years working before she retired, at GMA.

As a mother she always put everyone first, ahead of herself. Going above and beyond to make sure her family’s needs were met.

Dina was a mother figure to all who walked through her door. Gathering at the dinner table, sharing home cooked Italian food, playing cards and erupting in laughter, are all things we will remember.

With Rosa, they baked countless amounts of cookies, devoured by many with cups of coffee. Her pasta sauce, meatballs, lasagna and tiramisu were unmatched and everyone who has tried to replicate them, hasn’t quite emulated it.

Dina was the last original owner of her home in the townhouse complex where she raised her family. She has many memories with neighbours, some of whom she knew for over 30 years.

Dina, was a madre, zia, and nonna. She touched the lives of every person she came in contact with, and although she will be missed, she will always be in our hearts, thoughts, prayers and memories.

The funeral will be on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Church on 409 Paisley Road. People can also attend remotely through YouTube.
