It is with heavy hearts that we announce Christa’s peaceful passing on Oct 19, 2022, at Guelph General Hospital, surrounded by family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Matthews, sons Brian, Craig (Denise), Alan, and Wayne. Her twin sister, Karla and her son Roland (Alice) will also dearly miss her. Sister-in-law to Rose, Evelyn and Mary. Oma to Scott (Katherine), Cameron (Nicole), Melissa (Ross ), Matthew (Megan), great-Oma to Giselle, Adeline and Mia. Christa also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Canada and Germany. As per Christa’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and an inurnment will follow at a later date, with her predeceased spouse, Helmut, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family is forever grateful for the wonderful care at Guelph General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Guelph Humane Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
