Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday January 24, 2018, in his 88th year. Beloved husband and best friend for 46 years Millie, dear brother of Ingles (Patricia), the late Catherine (Bill) Vanstone; dear father of Carole (Terry) Bruckman; Susan (Daniel) Ziegler, Sandralee Berry, Anne (Paul) Farrell; step father to the late Judy (Stuart) Rogers and the late Michael Effer. He will forever be in the hearts of his grandchildren Joelle, Vaughn and Quinten Bruckman and Calum and Colette Farrell, step grandfather of Amanda (Darren) Anderson, Adam Rogers and great grandchild Oliver. George was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a paratrooper in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a member of the Canadian Legion Branch Number 234. George was also known for his ‘thumb’s up’ attitude and love for gardening. George enjoyed many summers at their ‘Summer Home’ at Mooretown Campground where he will be missed by his community of friends.
In accordance with George’s wishes, there will be no funeral, but a memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society http://www.cancer.ca or Huntington Society of Canada https://www.huntingtonsociety.ca would be appreciated.
