It is with heavy hearts and unimaginable sadness we announce the passing of Myrna Maryan Betik on March 1, 2022, in her 82nd year. Myrna passed away at Eden House Care Facility after years of battling liver cancer.

Born November 16, 1939, in Midland Ontario, then later moving to Brights Grove, Ontario with her father Armour, mother LuLu and brothers Jack and Murray. (All deceased). This is where she would meet the love of her life John Betik. They were married for 62 years. Myrna is survived by her 2 children, daughter Lori (Rick) Roth and son David, her grandchildren Katie Roth and Ryan Roth and her beloved puppy Holly.

Myrna travelled to numerous Ontario cities and even Winnipeg Manitoba, as her husband’s job with Sears had them constantly on the move. Eventually landing them in Guelph, Ontario, where they finally planted roots. Myrna worked at Hammond Manufacturing in their shipping department until taking early retirement and spent the next 30 years as a snowbird in Port Charlotte, Florida, making life-long friends along the way.

Her greatest hobby was enjoying watching and buying items on The Shopping Channel (whether She really needed them or not) She also enjoyed golfing at the Cutten Club and made many lasting relationships. Myrna became a big Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leaf fan and certainly enjoyed cheering them on.

With her health failing, Myrna moved into Eden House Care Facility, where she was reunited with her life-long love, John. Her last days were spent with her husband by her side.

Rest in peace Myrna .... wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

We will love you, always and forever

Myrna did not want a large funeral, so a small family service was held March 4, 2022, at Gilbert MacIntyre Hart Chapel. Cremation followed.

The family would like to thank Grand River and Guelph General Cancer Clinics for Myrna's care. A special thank you to all the staff at Eden House for the comfort and care during her short stay.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Alzheimer's Society. Donations can be made in person at the funeral home by cash or cheque or online following the link below her obituary at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com .
