It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dora Bewick on Wednesday morning, June 23, 2021 at Guelph General Hospital at the age of 73.
Loved mother of Stephen Jones (Rosanna). Loving grandmother of Arianna, Jordyn and Kyla. Dear sister of Ken Bewick (Beth Loader), Bill Bewick (Linda), Mary Ann Bewick and Glen Bewick (Terry). She is survived by uncles and aunts Harvel Metcalfe (Mae), Doris Domm, Stella (LaVerne) Hurst, Alice Kroch. Dora will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Dora was born on a farm in Arthur, ON on a snowy January 2nd in 1948. She was raised on a farm with her siblings and was no stranger to hard work. She studied nursing in Orillia, graduated with a Nursing degree in 1969 and pursed a nursing career immediately in Toronto. She enjoyed taking care of people and was a nurse for 35 years primarily taking care of children at Scarborough General Hospital.
Dora was a mother, a grandmother, an aunt and great aunt that would was proud of all the achievements and future accomplishments of her family.
If you would like to make memorial contributions, two foundations that were near and dear to the family were the Canadian Cancer Society and the Alzheimer's Society of Canada which afflicted her parents.
Cremation has taken place. A private service to celebrate Dora’s life will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Guests are invited to attend remotely via Zoom by using the link on the funeral home website.
