BISSON, Claude Gerard - It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved father, grandfather, dedicated educator and cherished family man, Claude Bisson. He left us on December 2nd, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and warmth that will forever remain etched in our hearts.
Claude was born to Henry and Laura Bisson in Timmins Ontario on October 23rd, 1947 and grew up surrounded by the love of his siblings: Jeannine Quesnel (son Darcy), Andre Bisson (wife Mariette, and children Marc and Josee) and Marie-Reine Theriault (children Natalie, Marc, and Alaine). His family was a source of strength, support, and enduring connections that enriched his life.
Claude dedicated nearly four decades of his life to shaping the minds of countless individuals as a college professor at Northern College in Timmins. Claude's commitment to nurturing young minds was not only evident in his professional life but also in the guidance and encouragement he provided to his own children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his two children, Nadine Bisson, a loving mother of three beautiful children, Mark, Tylor, and Shyla; and Andre Bisson, who found his life partner in Mindy Pho, and together they created a loving home for their three children, Adia, Reid, and Gavin. Claude is survived by his wife Gail Slater.
Claude's love extended beyond the bounds of family, encompassing friends, colleagues, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He had an infectious warmth and a genuine interest in the well-being of others. His kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
As we mourn the loss of Claude, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives, the lessons he shared, and the love that continues to bind us together. His memory will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the knowledge we pass on. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever be present in the love and memories we hold dear.
A celebration of Claude's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association in Claude's honor.
May he rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
A tree will be planted in memory of Claude G. Bisson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
