Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Thursday, August 18, 2016, in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of Phil Blatherwick.  Loving mother of Erik Blatherwick and Katrina (Ian) Smallacombe.  Cherished grandmother of Chase and Eve Charlotte Smallacombe.  Dear sister of Christine Walker (nee MacIndoe) of Dumbarton, Scotland.  Loved aunt of David (Maureen) MacIndoe, Alex (Jacqui) Walker, George (Judith) Walker, Helen (Jim) McGarry, Susan (Lachlan) Kennedy, Linda (Paul) Walker, David MacIndoe, Alan MacIndoe, Janette McIlrain, all of Scotland, David (Sharon) MacIndoe of Ireland and Christine (Ken) Waringa of the USA.

Margaret was born in Cardross, Scotland in 1943, and lived in Montreal, Toronto and Guelph.  She was an active volunteer and supporter of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Guelph and Wellington Area Breast Cancer Support Group and a former member of the Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Team, Guelph.

A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 161 Norfolk St., Guelph.  Reception to follow in the church hall.  Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com.
 
A tree will be planted in memory of Margaret C. Blatherwick in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
