BLYTHE, Dorothy Jane

Posted

Blythe Dorothy MM

Of Etobicoke, formerly of Guelph, passed away peacefully at the North York General Hospital on Thursday, March 11, 2021, in her 80th year.

Beloved wife of the late Peter Blythe (2011).  Loved mother of Krista (John), Bill (Brenda) and Norine (Dave, son-in-law).  Proud grandmother of Danielle, David (Ashley, Fiancé) and Zackary (Nicole). Will be dearly missed by her surviving siblings and their families.  Dorothy will be fondly remembered by many relatives, neighbours and friends.

She was a long-time member of Rexdale Alliance and was dedicated to the church and her Lord, providing a leadership role in the Sean courses, Marriage courses, Neighbourhood Connections Church, Sunday school and numerous other church related endeavours. She will also be dearly missed by her church family.

Dorothy loved decorating cakes – her family will always remember her incredible creations for all special occasions. She also enjoyed a competitive round of golf, gardening, camping, sewing and looking after others in need, but, she always put her family first, especially when it came to her cherished grandchildren, attending as many sporting events, dance recitals and horse competitions that she could.  Her love for all was unconditional, inspirational and compassionate.  Her warmth and caring nature will truly be missed.

A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of North York General Hospital’s Oncology/Palliative Care Unit, whose care and compassion will never be forgotten.  Memorial contributions to North York General Hospital – Oncology Department and Genetic Testing Program are appreciated.

While we grieve Mom’s/Dorothy’s loss, we know that she is so happy to be welcomed Home by her Lord and reunited with her husband (the love of her life), Peter.  In Dorothy’s words … “the Lord will not take me Home one moment before He is ready” … He must have been in need of another Angel.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051.

A tree will be planted in memory of Dorothy J. Blythe in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
