Of Guelph, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22nd, 2020, at the age of 88.  Born April 14, 1931 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
 
Beloved husband of 60 years to Joan. Predeceased by his eldest son Craig and his wife Valerie. Will be dearly missed by his son Glenn (Anita) Bremner, daughter Valerie (Raymond) Merkley and son Mark (Susan) Bremner. Proud grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 6.
 
James was a long-standing member of IBEW local 105, Knox Presbyterian Church and instilled a love for Scottish heritage in his children and grandchildren. He exposed his family to bagpipe music, highland dancing, shortbread, mince and tatties from a very early age.  He was an avid golfer a former national calibre water polo player and coach and an extremely hard worker. James could always be found puttering around the house, in the garden or up a ladder somewhere.
 
He was extremely well cared for by the staff at The Elliott Community, special thanks to the staff on the Edinburgh and Wellington wings.
 
A celebration of life will be scheduled for a future date.
