It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Janice Rose Brown (nee Overland). Janice passed away peacefully at home on August 12th, 2019, at the age of 64, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Janice was a devoted mother to David Brown (Casey), grandmother to Benjamin, and caring sister to Deborah Dalbo (Sebastian) and Richard Overland. Wonderful sister-in-law to Michael Brown (Marie), Debbie Fazari, Cheryl Dickinson (Cal), Julie Hempel, and Gary Brown. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends, and her "daughter by choice", Sandra Fish (Gord, Gavin, Abigail). Janice is predeceased by her loving husband, Brian Brown, her parents, Grantham and Jacqueline Overland (nee Condie), and her brother, David Overland.
Living in Guelph her entire life, Janice has touched the hearts of many in our community. She was a member of the Red Chevron and President of the Ladies' Auxiliary for many years, and will also be lovingly remembered by "her kids" at St. James Catholic High School, where she was employed. Janice loved travelling to the States with her friends, and visiting Southampton in the summers. She spoke freely and laughed easily. Anyone who has met Janice knows that she was larger than life, and that the world will be a little darker without her.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, August 24th from noon to 2pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2pm. Reception to follow at the Guelph Country Club (133 Woodlawn Road E, Guelph.
