John Curtis Bullock (Sept 20, 1954 - Oct 1, 2022), of Guelph, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love, after a year-long journey with cancer.  Dearly loved partner of Nancy Dickieson.  Will be sadly missed by Bruce and Sue Dickieson, Karla, Ben and Katie Oxley, Ian Dickieson, and a wide circle of extended family and friends.  Predeceased by his father, Harold Bullock, his sister Carolyn (Carrie) Bullock, and parents Donnie and Elvin McNally.

John worked as a building mechanic and millwright at the University of Guelph until his retirement in 2019.  His early career was in mining, in Alberta and Red Lake, ON.

John had a passion for the outdoors.  He loved to hike, cycle, and cross-country ski.  He challenged himself with demanding high altitude treks in Africa, Peru, Nepal and Chile.  Along with his love of travel, John was interested in photography, music and history, especially WWII.  He enjoyed time spent with family and friends, including a lively game of euchre after a good meal.

Visitation at GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, on Wednesday Oct 5th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m.  Funeral service at Breslau Mennonite Church, 226 Woolwich St. South, Breslau, on Thursday Oct 6th at 11:00 a.m.  If desired, donations may be made in John’s memory to Mennonite Central Committee, Guelph General Hospital Foundation or the Bruce Trail Conservancy.

Heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care provided by Dr. Stemmerdink, Grand River Cancer Centre, Guelph General Hospital, Home and Community Care, and many kind friends and family.

We invite you to leave your memories and donations online at: www.gilchristchapel.com and they will be forwarded to the family.
