It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ralph William Burt on October 18th, 2022, at age 83, peacefully at his home. Ralph was the baby of six, born to Harry and Clarissa Burt in Compton, QC. He was the beloved husband to the late Virginia Burt (2021) for 55 years and loving father to Patricia (Kevin Christie) of Surrey BC and Stephen (Sylwia Dyl) of Guelph ON. Dear brother to John of Wiarton ON and Sylvia Smith of Lennoxville QC. Predeceased by the late Audrey of Toronto ON, Marion of Dartmouth NS and Robert of London ON.

Ralph grew up in Lennoxville QC and played both soccer and football before graduating with a double major in physics and chemistry from Bishops University. In taking on a managerial role at General Foods in Dorval, he met his future wife Virginia and they were married in 1965. Patty came along first with Stephen a couple years later to round out this beautiful family. His career spanned over 30 years taking them from Montreal to Cobourg ON, Kentville NS and finally retiring from Colby Foods in Ingersoll, ON. They settled in Perth ON for 14 years before moving to be closer to their son in Guelph ON. Steadfast in Ralph's life besides his family, included his Anglican faith and Rotary where he was always an advocate for Service above Self and helping in any way he could to make a positive impact in other people's lives. He continued to keep sports in his life; both playing, watching and instilling that competitive spirit in his children. He volunteered at the Perth memorial Hospital in the orthopedic clinic and was an annual participant in selling daffodils for the Canadian Cancer Foundation.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Royal on Gordon retirement home for putting up with Ralph's sense of humor, which could be very dry at times. You are deeply missed which is a testament to what you mean to your family and friends. Love you forever.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, cremation has taken place and a Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 2:00pm.
