With heavy hearts, we announce that on April 24th, 2024, Michael Burton passed away after a brief battle in the hospital. Michael (Mike) was surrounded by loved ones at the time of passing and was at peace when he slipped away.
Mike was born on September 10th, 1951, to Ronald and Rose Burton in Dagenham, England. Mike and his parents came to Canada when he was 5 years old, living in various towns throughout the Greater Toronto Area as a toddler and adolescent.
Mike met his high school sweetheart, Lynne, whom he married, and they had two boys together, Scott and Brian. The family moved to Brampton where Mike had a successful career as a police officer for over 30 years. In retirement, he moved to Guelph and enjoyed his years spending time with and looking after the family, playing golf, and of course, watching football.
Mike loved his family very much and is survived by his wife Lynne, his sons Scott and Brian and their spouses Daniqua and Agata, granddaughter Sybilla, and Sister Kathy.
He will be forever missed.
A private family service will be held at WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Thursday, May 2nd at 11:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
