It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce Beverley Joan Calanchie (Bennett) passed away peacefully with her family at her side. The beloved wife of the late Alex W. Calanchie (1986). Alex and Bev were married for 34 years and lovingly celebrated the birth of their 9 children Carol Waters (Michael), Lynn Lake (Martin), Gail Wiebe (Walter), Maureen Grahlman (Ron), Donna Calanchie (Randy), Murray Calanchie (Linda), Diane Calanchie (Greg), David Calanchie (Kathy), Brian Calanchie (Eun Young). The devoted Nanny to her 10 grandchildren Kindra, Mark, Brendan, Krista, Melissa, Bryan, Michael, Joshua, Dylan and Nathan and Great Nanny to her 17 great grandchildren Sierra, Sydney, Kenny, Kingston, Jacoby, Cooper, Johme, Alekzander, Frances, Chase, Asher, Kaede, Haru, Louie, Zachery, Marcus and Lincoln. Predeceased by her 3 brothers Ted, Bill and Alvin.
Our mom touched the lives of countless people through her life-long dedication and commitment with the Holy Rosary Church, the Catholic Women’s League, the Guelph Drop-In Centre, and the Loretto Convent.
The Calanchie Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Riverside Glen. Thank you for the respect, kindness and love you showed our mom during the 12 years she spent in your care. We would also like to say thank you to her personal companions Brianne and Johanna who comforted mom and loved her throughout this difficult and long journey.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel. A private funeral was held at Holy Rosary Church on Monday, March 11th.
Our hearts are broken but the wonderful loving memories of our Mom and Nanny will be with us forever.
