Celebration of Life: HERSHAW, WIlliam

Posted

Hershaw William MM
William Hershaw and his young bride Isabel Hershaw set out from Scotland in 1956 with dreams of building a new life in Canada.  Like many new immigrants they came with just their suitcases and ambition.  William fulfilled those dreams magnificently, raising three children, Sandy, William, and Leslie, three grandchildren Paul, Taylor, and Kristina and two great grandchildren Lilah and Mason.   William has established strong household roots in Guelph and Collingwood, built a successful construction company and showed everyone how to have fun by dancing up a storm at many Toastmasters Conventions.  William (or Bill) was living peacefully into his 91st year when his mortal time came to end on March 24, 2021, two days before his 65th wedding anniversary.  William served in the British Army in Egypt before coming to Canada.  That Scottish Soldiers Spirit kept him brave, grateful, and full of joy through life’s journey to the very end.   Raise a toast to salute William Hershaw.
We will be having a celebratory memorial for Bill in Guelph from 1pm to 3pm on Friday October 29.  The event will be in Guelph at the Legion Hall, Branch 234 at 57 Watson Parkway South in Guelph.
