It is with a heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of Catherine Chornoboy.

Catherine died peacefully in Hospice Wellington with her three daughters by her side after having a massive stroke only 11 days prior.

Catherine lived a very busy life full of fun activities and friends. During the last few days before her stroke, she celebrated her 74th birthday, enjoyed a beach day, and swam in her pool, all with her daughters and grandchildren.

Catherine will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Loving mother of Holly Tarasiuk, Billie Anne LeBlanc (Lucas), & Cassandra O’Donnell (Brock). Proud grandmother to William, Heidi, Erin, Ada, Piper, & Dawson. Dear aunt to Shawn McEwen.

Catherine is predeceased by her parents William Henry Gilfillan & Mary Margaret Gilfillan (Hollis) and her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Anne McEwen (Gilfillan).

Catherine was an inspiring teacher for 34 years, a passionate farmer, and devoted Catholic. She enjoyed cards, music, square dancing, murder mystery books, cutting hay, her cattle and sheep, her bluebirds, a dip in the pool, travelling the world, & Jeopardy.

Resting at Gilbert McIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N, Guelph. Catherine’s family will receive relatives and friends for a Visitation on Sunday, August 20th 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
