CHRISTOV Margit

With deep sadness we announce, that Margit Christov (nee Tabit) passed away peacefully on July 9, 2021, at the age of 91 at The Elliott. Predeceased by her parents Erzsebet and Ferenc from Baks, Hungary, husband Nicholas (2011) and son Stephen (2011).

Survived by her sister Erzsebet Dunai and five nieces and nephews in Hungary. Deeply missed by her loving daughter and best friend, Aranka. Cherished grandmother to Nicholas Christov, Daniel Flewelling, Jessica Flewelling, and great grandmother to Casen Christov.

Margit and Nicholas emigrated with their two children from Budapest, Hungary in 1956. While in Guelph, Margit made many new friends in the community and also while working at The Homewood as a nurse's aide. She had many fond memories of the Hungarian families she met in Guelph.

Her life revolved around her family and friends who remember her as an incredibly caring person. She glowed when she spent time with her grandchildren and great grandchild, and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. She loved life and lots of laughter. She was very creative, and had many talents including sewing, crocheting and cooking. Margit and her husband travelled back to Hungary many times to visit family and friends. Other trips included Hawaii, Florida, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Austria and Bulgaria.

Thank you to The Elliott Community employees who participated in Margit's journey of life. The incredible care and compassion for my mother will always be remembered. We express our appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Ruddock for his care.

A funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church on Thursday, July 15th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Following the mass, there will be a private family interment ceremony at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum in Guelph. Online condolences can be made at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
