Marie Dolores Clancy, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on July 3, 1933, in Guelph, Marie was a cherished member of her community and a beacon of wisdom and compassion to all who knew her.

Marie was the loving mother of Paula and Roger (Teresa), and the adored grandmother of Robert Crowe, Michael Crowe (Alex), and Nikolas Fontinato. Her legacy extends further as the cherished great-grandmother to Remi Crowe and Vienne Crowe.  Predeceased by her son Lou Fontinato Jr. 

Growing up in Guelph, Marie was born into a large family and was raised with values of kindness, courtesy, and dedication. Known for her sage advice and captivating conversations, Marie possessed a competitive spirit that drove her to excel in every aspect of her life. She had a deep passion for politics and was an avid advocate for others, always striving to make a positive impact on the world around her.

Marie's nurturing and caring spirit were evident in everything she did. After graduating from Loretta Academy and nursing school, she practiced as a registered nurse for many years, touching countless lives with her compassion and expertise. Her career took her to new heights as an airline steward, where she earned the affectionate nickname "legs" for her grace and elegance.

In her leisure time, Marie enjoyed playing bridge and bingo, reveLling in the company of friends and loved ones. She had a profound appreciation for old-time piano music and would effortlessly captivate audiences with her favoUrite tunes. Marie never tired of listening to "Danny Boy" or cheering on her beloved Blue Jays.

After retiring, Marie embarked on countless adventures and travelling, relishing the opportunity to explore new cultures and experiences. She remained dedicated to staying informed about world events and engaged in spirited debates, always eager to share her insights and perspectives.

Marie's faith was an integral part of her life, and she found solace and strength in her devotion to the Roman Catholic Church. Her greatest joy, however, came from her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, delighting in their laughter and milestones.

Kind, courteous, and infinitely wise, Marie Clancy leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and integrity. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Doctor Rosemary Danielli for her dedication, compassion and care. 

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home - Hart Chapel. Private services have taken place.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Wellington.  

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her.
