CLARK, Edward 'Brian'

Posted

Clark E Brian

Passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Rev. Dr. Diane Clark (d 2014). Proud father of Elissa (Ian) Newby-Clark, Erinn Clark (Steve Steers), Colin (Darcie) Clark and the late Joel Clark (d 1974). Loving grandfather of Adrian, Alasdair, Saya, Gemma, and Norah. Brian also leaves behind his faithful canine companion, Sarah.
Brian spent his career in photojournalism, most of it at the Waterloo Region Record. Brian was passionate about capturing unexpected moments and loved to recall adventures he had while trying to get just the right photo. As a photo editor and instructor at Loyalist College, Brian was a mentor to many young photographers throughout his career.
In retirement, Brian enjoyed sailing, building a model railroad, watching the Toronto Blue Jays and spending time with family and neighbours in the Village by the Arboretum. He was actively involved in Lakeshore Yacht Club, Chalmers Community Services Centre and a ParkInDance group. Parkinson’s slowed Brian’s movements, but it did not take away from his sense of humour, which will be missed. The family extends their thanks to Brian’s doctors, Dr. Kyrie Little and Dr. Susan Fox, for their care over the years.
Cremation has taken place. Private family graveside service will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 at Maitlandbank Cemetery, Seaforth, ON.  If desired, memorial contributions to Chalmers Community Service Centre (chalmerscentre.ca or 519-822-8778) or to the Krembil Brain Institute at UHN Foundation (UHNfoundation.ca/tribute or 416-603-5300) would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031).  We invite you to leave your memories and donations online at: www.gilchristchapel.com and they will be forwarded to the family.
