Passed away peacefully, following a courageous and lengthy battle with his
health, at Hospice Wellington with his loving family by his side on
Tuesday, February 26, 2019.

Bruce was the loving husband for 72 years to Gert. Dedicated father of
Alice and her husband Rick Vanderlip, late Helen (1987) and her husband
Wayne Conkie, Donna and her husband Wayne Carmichael, Bruce Jr. and his
wife Cindy, Bob and his wife Jane and Ron and his wife Marlene. He was
the cherished grandfather of 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and
1 great great-grandchild. Bruce is survived by his brother Garnet
Clayton, and his sisters June Fernie and Doreen Young. He was predeceased
by his 3 brothers Newt, Bill and Bev Clayton.

His passion for hockey and children lead him to numerous awards over 36
years in Guelph Minor Hockey which included Coach of the Year, Executive
of the Year, the William Berry Award for outstanding service and the Life
Membership Award which is the highest recognition in Guelph Minor Hockey.
He was a long time employee of Canadian General Electric yet above all,
Bruce was a family man and his family always came first. We would like to
thank Hospice Wellington Staff for their care, compassion and support.

His family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral
Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 7
- 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 12 – 2 p.m. A service to
commemorate Bruce’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on
Saturday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. If so desired,
memorial donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by his
family.
