COLLYER, Ronald

Ronald Charles Collyer, 74 passed away on Tuesday July 24, 2018 in Fergus Ontario. After a fearless battle with cancer, he slipped away; surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born and raised in Montreal. He attended Dalhousie University. Ron loved to work with steel and he quickly found employment with Lockwell and Forge in the drafting department. In 1967 he married, Jo-Ann and moved to Oakville for a positon at Leblanc and Royal. He worked as a draftsman and later became a drafting and engineering manager. Ron loved his career and the people he worked with but he always put his family first. He was amazing with children and had a warmth and energy that made everyone happy to be around him.
He is survived by wife Jo-Ann, sons, Tim and Ted, daughter in law Uli, granddaughters, Mackenzie and Sonja. Also survived by sisters, Janice, Jill and his brother John and brother in law Rick. 
The pain of Ron's passing is immeasurable but his memory and energy will always live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to have known him. 
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Words of Remembrance will take place at 4:30 pm.
