On a bright, sunny Saturday morning with family by her side, Edith Frances Cross of Guelph passed away peacefully in her 98th year. She is predeceased by her late husband Allan (2003) and her sister Marion McTaggart (2020). Also known as Edie and Deed, she grew up on a farm near Harriston and moved to Guelph as a teenager. She began working for Hammond Manufacturing and spent the final three decades of her career at the Guelph Children’s Aid Society.

Deed loved being outside, going for long walks and had a great passion for pets, farm animals and wildlife of all kinds. She loved antiques and had many fond memories of the past generations of her family. Through her long life she enjoyed spending time at her country property and travelling on annual vacations to Kentucky and Florida. In her spare time, Edith made amazing quilts and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed hosting family events and was the kind of person that made many friends everywhere she went.

She was loved by and will be fondly remembered by her nieces Linda Moorhouse, Brenda Hill and Bonnie McTaggart and her nephews Brian Cross, Bob Cross and Rob McTaggart along with her many great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.

Everyone who knew Edith will miss her happy spirit and engaging personality.
