DAOUST, Raymond Yvon

Daoust Raymond MM

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of one of the most wonderful, kind men from this world on April 30th, 2021.

Left to carry on are his wife Lynn and children Jennifer, Nicole (Josh Mitchell), Raymond (Rachel Meltz), and Paul.  “Pa Pere” will be missed terribly by grandson Benjamin.  He helped fill the Dad shoes for nephews Damien and Jason.  He was deeply loved by our many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces.  He will be sorely missed by brothers in law Jim Davidson (Diane), Bob Davidson, and Don Davidson, all of Guelph.  Also mourning his passing are our Quebec family, Mom Yvonne Daoust, Siblings, Luc Renaud (Suzanne Dupuis), Marc Renaud (Renee Belleau), and Linda Renaud.

Ray was predeceased by our daughter Jacqueline, his Dad Rodrique Daoust, his mother Laurette LaCroix, Father and Mother in law, Doug and Jean Davidson, and by his cherished brother and partner in mischief, Fernand; the boys are reunited.

Ray was a true gentleman.  He was devoted to all of us, and our lives are better for having him been in it.  He treated everyone he met with respect and was the first to help anyone in need.  It didn’t matter to him what you did, or who you were, everyone received the same warm welcome.  As long as you were happy, he was happy.

We will miss his terrible “Dad jokes”, his boisterous singing, his booming laugh, and his mischievous smirk.  He was always the life of the party.  He loved to make others laugh. There was nothing he enjoyed more than a get together in the back yard.  His hugs were famous.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the night staff of April 29th of St Mary’s General Hospital ED (Angelina) and ICU (Maja), who all fought so mightily to save Ray.  Your heartfelt dedication, determination, and kindness will never be forgotten.

In keeping with Rays wishes, there will be no funeral service.  Instead, Please plan for a party in his honour once COVID restrictions have been lifted.  Bring your happiest memories and your smile.  Details will be announced at a later time.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051.

If you wish to make a donation in Ray’s honour, we would appreciate contributions to either The Farley Foundation or The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

A tree will be planted in memory of Raymond Y. Daoust in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
