(January 14, 1934 – November 20, 2018) - Mom has set out on her final journey after a life well lived. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband George, son David, her parents James & Susanna Durcan (nee Evans), her sister Margaret and brother Anthony. She is survived by her sons Mark (Susan) and Greg (Christine), her beloved grandchildren Sydney, Paul, Grant, Ethan and Trent, her brother John, sister-in-law Pauline, niece Jennifer and nephews Richard and Christopher.
Mom could most certainly light up the room, and her mere presence guaranteed lots of laughs and passionate discussion. She was her very own Wikipedia in that her ability to recall information relating to numerous topics left us all in awe.
She had a deep and vibrant network of friends and she derived great joy from the many adventures with them, whether travelling abroad, day tripping here and there, attending or hosting countless dinners and luncheons or simply discussing investments and books with these social clubs, while sampling wine.
The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff on the 5th floor ICU Guelph General Hospital for the care provided to mom. The challenges of her care were fully met allowing her a dignified departure on her own clear wishes from this world by attending gracefully to her needs.
